COMMUNITY CONSULTATION: BUSHFIRE SAFETY IN TOWNSHIPS
Council has engaged the Ten Rivers consultancy to review Bushfire Safety and Protection in Townships.
Their study will focus on protection measures within towns and on the perimeter, and they will provide advice to Council on the best options to effectively reduce risk.
Longer term works programs that seek to reduce fuel loads in these areas for the safety of our communities will be one of the key results.
A series of community workshops have been underway since 29 September 2020 and were well attended. The schedule of the meetings is listed below. To collect more information Ten Rivers released a survey that was available from 1-16 October 2020.
It is planned that a summary of findings will be available here late November-early December.
