Anzac Day – Council Wreath Laying

There will be no formal ANZAC Day ceremonies on the Island this year given the restrictions of COVID-19, however the day will be observed as a mark of respect to our Fallen, and to Veterans of all conflicts.

Councillor Denholm, as President of the RSL KI Sub Branch, will lay a Council wreath at the American River Memorial at Dawn, and the Penneshaw Memorial later that morning.

Mayor Pengilly will lay a Council wreath at the Parndana Memorial at 9:00am, and the Kingscote Memorial at 11:00am.

Lest we forget.

Light Up The Dawn - RSL SA

As a result of restrictions to this year’s formal ANZAC Day commemorations the RSL encourages people to Light Up the Dawn and remember and pay respects from home. This can take several forms including from your home, the end of your driveway or a balcony.

Spread the word and take it to your neighbourhood. #ANZACspirit #lightupthedawn
