Be ActiveKangaroo Island Council in collaboration with the Office for Recreation and Sport in conjunction with the Southern Fleurieu Health Service, the City of Victor Harbor, Alexandrina Council, KI Health Service and Yankalilla Council is pleased to support the Southern Fleurieu & KI be active Field Officer, Jeremy Bell.

Jeremy is pleased to assist sport and recreation clubs and physical activity providers across the Southern Fleurieu & KI region, in their capacity to deliver quality recreation and physical activity opportunities to their local community. He plans on doing this through increased training and development opportunities in the areas of club management and club development.

Jeremy said, "The first priority is to establish a Regional Sport and Recreation Network for the Southern Fleurieu & KI.  This network would be a means of communicating information to clubs such as grant and funding opportunities, workshop dates and training seminars, events happening in local areas and success stories through regular bulletins and newsletters.

In the coming weeks I will be contacting each club to learn about programs that are currently running and to view facilities. I also plan to hold information sessions in the near future to hear your comments and feedback on the establishment of the Regional Sport and Recreation Network.

I believe that sporting and recreation clubs and the needs of the community will be very important in shaping this new role and I look forward to working with you to boost participation in sport and active recreation in the Southern Fleurieu & KI."Be Active
