The Rockhopper is an initiative of Kangaroo Island Council, the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure and the Office of the Commissioner of Kangaroo Island and provides a new public transport option for all residents and visitors to Kangaroo Island.
Increased services at ROCKHOPPER fares on the Sealink shuttle between Penneshaw, American River and Kingscote Trip requests for this route will be forwarded to Sealink or you can contact them directly on 131 301.
ROCKHOPPER Dial-a-Ride is operated by KI Transfers as part of the Western Route. The Western Route is a flexible route with a schedule dependent on requested trips. Where trip demand is low on this route, additional Dial-a-Ride trips will be offered.
Trips for the Western Route and Dial-a-Ride are scheduled based on current availability, people with disabilities are given priority, and booking is required.
Trips may be requested up to 3 weeks in advance but no later than 12pm the working day prior (Thursday for a Friday trip and Monday for a Tuesday trip).
After this any available space is given to passengers on the waiting list for Dial-a-Ride.
