Coastal Magic Exhibition
In recent years Kangaroo Island artists have developed a unique and striking voice, and are gaining increasing recognition nationally and internationally.
The Kangaroo Island Council is proud to support and promote local artists with an ongoing arts presence at the new Kangaroo Island Airport.
“Coastal Magic” is a themed curated exhibition, and the second show presented to the public since the Airport was officially opened in June 2018.
The Island is bordered by 540 kilometres of largely unspoilt, extraordinary coastline. It is among the least disturbed shores in the temperate world. It is no wonder that our artists are inspired to explore a rich range of topics on this subject whether it is a minute investigation of the life amongst the cliffs and dunes, panoramic vistas where the sea meets the sky, or deeply conceptual pieces informed by the very materials recovered from these zones.
Coastal Magic is a reprised offering of the 2018 awarded Kangaroo Island SALA exhibition previously seen in Adelaide and includes additional pieces from previous Airport exhibitors.
