Governor General to visit KI again

Published 23rd April 2024

The Governor General of Australia His Excellency David Hurley and Mrs Hurley are visiting Kangaroo Island in continued support of our Island Community after the devastating fires of 2019-2020.

The revitalisation and rebuilding of the Kangaroo Island community has been of particular interest to The Governor General and Mrs Hurley, who last visited in February 2022 to turn the sod for the Stokes Bay Community Hall (pictured). They are delighted to be returning to rekindle their connection to Island residents and see the revitalisation of the Stokes Bay community and Stokes Bay Hall.

His Excellency and Mrs Hurley’s previously planned visit was delayed due to COVID and they are looking forward to once again meeting our Island community. Please join us this Sunday 28th April at the Stokes Bay Hall at 2.30pm for an informal meet and greet with the Official party as they tour the Stokes Bay Community Hall Facility.
