Airport

The Kangaroo Island, Kingscote Airport terminal is open 7 days a week from 6.30am and closed after the last scheduled flight for the day.

Terminal area includes:

  • Short Term vehicle parking
  • Overnight vehicle parking (fees apply)
  • Public toilets
  • Water fountain
  • Visitor brochures and information screens
  • Cafe (only available when flights arrive & depart)

Car Parking

The airport offers free short term vehicle parking as well as overnight vehicle parking (fees apply - refer Fees and Charges Schedule). The car park is divided into timed zones with the shorter times being located nearer to the terminal entrance.

Public Transport

There are currently 2 Regular Public Transport companies operating out of the Kangaroo Island, Kingscote Airport:-

  • Regional Express Airlines (REX) - offering several flights daily between Adelaide and Kangaroo Island. Any queries regarding schedules and availability of seats should be directed to REX - phone 13 17 13 or visit www.rex.com.au
  • QantasLink - offering flights between Adelaide and Kangaroo Island up to 5 days a week (dependant on season) and also between Melbourne and Kangaroo Island 3 days a week from mid-December to end of January. Any queries regarding schedules and availability of seats should be directed to QantasLink - phone 13 13 13 or visit www.qantas.com.au

  • Kangaroo Island Transfers provides a passenger transport service on Kangaroo Island including the Airport. They meet all scheduled RPT Flights. For further information please phone Peter Wyatt 0427 887 575 or email bookings@kitransfers.com.au

Disability access: The Airport's Disability Action plan includes information on accessibility and special assistance.

Fuel

There is currently NO FUEL available at this Airport.

The nearest alternative fuel is at Aldinga - (AVGAS) or Goolwa - (AVGAS and JETA1). It is recommended that heavy aircraft utilise Adelaide.

Local Traffic Regulations
  1. Prior approval is requested for all Non RPT sealed apron PRKG.
  2. All turns to be MAX RAD, MNM speed.
  3. All 180DEG turns for ACFT ABV 5, 700KG MTOW use RWY END only.
  4. Apron edge taxilane from TWY A, MAX wingspan 29M ACFT access to Bay 1-3 only.
  5. TWY B and Apron edge taxiland to Bay 4 limited to MAX SF34 ACFT.
  6. RPT Apron parking bays 1 and 2 (B712, E170, F100, DH8D).
  7. RPT Apron parking bay 3 (DH8D, DH8C, SF34) and bay 4/4A (SF34).
  8. Itinerant ACFT PRKG in GA area, W of sealed apron via TWY B & C.
  9. Except in EMERG, sealed apron parking by non RPT aircraft may incur parking fee unless by prior arrangement.
