Paying your rates through BPay available within your internet banking.

Look for the BPay details on your rates notice. Make sure you use the correct BPay reference as it is different for each assessment.

Our office opens Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. However, a payment cannot be made after 4pm.

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise that may make it difficult to meet payment deadlines. Council offers a repayment plan for you to pay up your arrears in 12 months period. Applications can be submitted to kicouncil@kicouncil.sa.gov.au and outlining the situation why you apply for a payment arrangement.

Payment Arrangement - Sundry Debtors

If you are experiencing hardships or financial difficulties, you can apply for a Hardship - Deferred Rates Payment.

  • You are required to attend an accredited financial counsellor who must prepare a current income and expenditure statement.
  • The counsellor must review the income and expenditure statement and prepare a suggested budget.
  • A copy of these documents must be provided to council substantiating the current financial circumstances, indicating any advice, assistance provided to the ratepayer and their reasons supporting that remittance of Fines and Interest or postponement be granted.

Current holders of a State Seniors Card are able to apply to Council to postpone payment of their Council rates on their principal place of residence. A minimum amount of $500 of the annual rates must be paid. For more information, please refer to Explanatory Notes in the application.
